I’m Noah Thulin, a filmmaker who specializes in editing, practical effects, and stop motion animation.
As a freelancer, I mainly work in content creation, making ads, motion effects, graphics, and editing shorts.
I also do plenty of videography for marketing campaigns, short films and documentaries.
Check out some examples below.
STRANGEBIRD
A brewery and restaurant that I’ve been creating weekly social media content for.
This includes food specials, event videos, and animations based on the unique art.
The examples here are a video I shot and edited for their catering services, and a collection of some of the beer animations I’ve been making.

WoodBorne Cabinetry
I work with Tom, the owner, as he builds custom orders in his shop.
Showcasing the care and craft one can expect from the business.
I really liked how clear and concise these turned out, especially the close ups of the grain and the beauty shots.
A documentary to showcase the development of two custom vehicles for SEMA. We had full access and recorded over 15 hours of footage to capture all the building and meetings.
This was the shorter cut of another one that was about 20 minutes longer. I think the flow of this cut works much better, even if you don’t know much about the vehicle or brand I think it’s a good watch.
Documentary
A documentary looking back at the Black Lives Matter movement in Rochester, interviewing leaders in the community about how the city has changed in the wake of COVID and the police killing of Daniel Prude.
I came into this project as lead editor, but I also worked with Rashaad to shoot the current interviews of Joe Prude and Samra Brouk.
This was a huge project to edit together, sorting through 15 interview subjects, hours of B-roll, creating graphics and captioning.
Spec Commercials
Red Panda
A concept for an ad based around Red Panda’s Bitcrusher pedal.
Took the 8-bit sound idea and spun it as an opportunity to animate a fake video game.
Record Archive
A stop-motion animation made for a local record/movie/game store.
I tried to capture the fun and the attitude I always get from this place.
Recent Personal Project
A short film I made to raise money for the war in Ukraine. I was the writer, editor and director for this project and I had to work with 16mm footage for the first time, along with a translator, and voice actor auditions.
Lot of work went into this and I’m really happy with the impact that it had.
I’ve been slowly working on Youtube essays on specific things that I really like talking about. Mostly revolving around film production and talking about ways people can be creative.
The first one here is on 24 hour films which is really how I found a lot of my footing creatively and I encourage others to try it as well.
